Our Materials

Natural materials, chosen for living color.

At AGA NATURE, color begins long before dye touches the fabric. The fibers we choose, the way a yarn is spun, the textures we develop, and the way a material ages in use all shape the final expression of color. We work with natural materials because they bring warmth, honesty, and depth to everyday objects.

Material First

We do not think of material as a background for color. We think of material and color as one continuous story. Each fabric is chosen for its texture, comfort, and the way it lives in daily life.

Cotton

Soft, breathable, familiar.

Cotton is the natural fiber we return to again and again. It is gentle on the skin, easy to live with, and quietly dependable in daily use. When prepared well, cotton receives natural dye with a calm, earthy clarity that becomes more beautiful as the fabric softens over time.

Care Wash in cold water with a mild detergent. Tumble dry low or line dry.

Linen

Cool, textured, quietly refined.

Linen is made from flax and carries a dry, relaxed hand that feels both crisp and lived-in. We love linen for the way it holds washed neutrals and sun-softened tones, giving color an understated depth rather than surface brightness. With wear, it becomes softer and more personal.

Care Gentle wash cold. Line dry when possible.

Silk

Luminous, soft, naturally elegant.

Silk brings a different kind of beauty to natural color. Its smooth surface reflects light softly, so tones appear deeper, more nuanced, and slightly glowing. We use silk when a piece calls for fluidity, softness, and a more elevated finish.

Care Hand wash cold or use a delicate cycle with mild detergent. Dry flat away from direct sun.

Modal

Fluid, gentle, easy to wear.

Modal is a cellulose fiber valued for its soft drape and smooth touch. It moves easily with the body and lends comfort to pieces made for rest and everyday wear. In natural dye, it tends to read soft and clean, with a quiet, modern finish.

Care Wash cold on a gentle cycle. Avoid high heat.

Alpaca Batting

Soft warmth from within.

Not every material story is on the surface. Our alpaca batting is used as an inner layer when light warmth, softness, and gentle loft matter just as much as the outer fabric. It adds comfort without weight and brings a natural sense of ease to finished pieces.

Care Spot clean when possible, or follow the care label of the finished product.

Baby Cashmere

Exceptionally soft, quietly luxurious.

Baby cashmere is chosen for moments when touch matters most. It is fine, warm, and delicate, with a softness that feels immediate rather than dramatic. We use it selectively, where a material should feel precious but still calm and understated.

Care Hand wash cold or dry clean. Store folded.

KAPONIC®

A developed texture, created for comfort and color.

KAPONIC® is part of AGA NATURE's material development story. The name was created as our own material identity, and the fabric was developed with a distinctive waffle-like surface that feels soft, airy, and dimensional. Its first expression became a knee blanket — a simple everyday piece where texture, natural material, and natural color come together.

Care Wash cold with mild detergent. Line dry or tumble dry low.

Caring for Natural Materials

Natural materials age beautifully when treated gently. Wash with cool water and mild detergent, avoid bleach and strong chemicals, and dry away from harsh heat or direct sun when possible. Natural dye may soften with time — this subtle change is part of its character.
